Irish Clan

The Irish Clan is different from the earlier versions, the basic difference's being that the lights are now electric pop up ones and the floor is lowered so myself being over 6 feet 2 Inch in height can fit in comfortably. Also the front has been re styled with a integral spoiler changing the look, a bit like a TR7 that went through a hot wash and came out 7/8 of the size.

Bought in 1999 with a rather sick 1040 engine which ended up with the block being virtually scrap, but on the plus side it has Spax shocks, new water pump and radiator plus Lotus drive couplings. Now fitted with fresh built 915 Sport block, with lightened rods with 3/8 bolts, pistons with modified cut out's to clear larger valves, Crank was balanced and tufftrided and then fitted with competition lead/copper bearings then a lightened flywheel. On went a mint standard sport head and cam to finish.
The motor breaths through twin 1.125 strombergs with K&N filters, 4-2-1 exhaust and electronic ignition, with this setup at present it will now knock on the door of 100 Mph.
Re-trimming the interior fitting some new carpet head lining and some new bucket seats, not such an easy job as I thought it took over 3 weeks. The great thing no rust the MOT every year a doddle. Now sold to pay for new project lightweight Davrian.
